- 3 large Yukon Gold potatoes
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Ketchup, for serving
- Mustard, for serving
- 1/2 cup minced pickles
- Oil, for frying
Instructions
- Prepare a fryer or pan: Heat oil in the fryer or large pan over medium heat to 350°F.
- Peel and dice the potatoes: Cut into cubes and cook in salted boiling water for 15-20 minutes.
- Mash the potatoes: Drain, return to pot, mash with a pinch of salt and butter.
- Prepare the beef: Cook beef with onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a skillet until browned.
- Fill the cones: Form cones from mashed potatoes, make a hollow, and spoon in the beef mixture.
- Add cheese and toppings: Sprinkle cheese, drizzle ketchup, mustard, and add pickles.
- Fry: Fry cones in hot oil until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
- Drain and serve: Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot!
Notes
Customize with your favorite toppings; try adding Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor.
