Description

A comforting rösti dish featuring crispy potatoes, gooey mozzarella, and a rich creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 500g Kartoffeln (Potatoes)
  • 200g Mozzarella
  • 250g Champignons (Mushrooms)
  • 1 Zwiebel (Onion)
  • 200ml Sahne (Cream)
  • Fresh Frische Kräuter (herbs like tarragon, chives, or parsley)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pfeffer to taste
  • Öl zum Braten (Oil for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes: Peel and coarsely grate the potatoes, then mix in salt and let rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Fry the rösti: Heat oil in a frying pan and spread the grated potatoes evenly, pressing down to form a cake and fry until golden brown.
  3. Add mozzarella: Place mozzarella slices in the center and gently fold the edges of the rösti over the cheese.
  4. Melt the cheese: Lower heat and continue frying until the cheese melts and the outside is crispy.
  5. Prepare the mushroom sauce: Sauté onions and mushrooms, add cream, salt, pepper, and fresh herbs, and stir until thickened.
  6. Serve: Place the rösti on a plate and drizzle with the mushroom sauce. Garnish as desired.
